cinema's viewers, line graph, IELTS task1, band 6.5

The chart represents the percentage of the cinema’s viewers by age for over 18-year period from 1984 to 2002. It can be clearly seen that the age group of 15-24 was the most frequent cinema attenders.

Looking at the details, all the age groups saw a rise in people attending the cinema but fluctuated over the period. The age group 35 and over had the least passion to watch cinema, steadily increasing to only 10% viewers in 1997 and reached nearly 20% at the end of the period. 

On the other hand, the medium attenders were the age groups under 14 and 25-34  the figure for which  were approximately identical with both wildly fluctuated and had plugged in a couple of times. In spite of some fluctuations, the figures for those in the age groups of under 14 and 25-34 increased from 10% and 5% in 1984 to around 38% and 35% in 2002 respectively. The most common attenders  cinema viewers were of the age group 15-24 who started with about 15% and steadily inclined, increased, it fluctuated for the last two-quarter and reached a peak at 60% in 2000 before it fell and reached a plateau at 50% in 2001.

Overall, all the age groups had developed interest to watch cinema with the . The age groups of 15-24, under 14, 25-34 and 35 and over had maintained their position over the 18-year period as the first, second, third and fourth place respectively.
