hybrid car flow chart - IELTS task 1,band 7

The battery usage allows a less dependent on petrol engine, thus legitimate a smaller petrol engine and as a result it reduces emissions which is good for the environment.

Like any regular petrol driven car, it uses fuel in petrol engine to ignite and produce power. The power is then sent to transmission which drives the wheels and sets the car in motion. The only differences are  that it has battery power source and energy control unit. The car movement allows the energy levels of the battery areto be maintained and stored in control unit. Whenever the car needs a boast, the control unit will pulls the power from the battery and petrol engine and sends it to the electric motor. Then the energy is further sent to transmission which stirrings the car to move faster.
