employed persons, IELTS task 1



The chart represents the number of workers by job types and genders in Australia in 2003. It is clearly seen that males were more dominating in most of the job sectors.

Looking at the details, of all the seven sectors listed, five of them recorded more number of males than females. The tradespersons sector had the highest   number of men of all (900,000s), in which the figure for males differed about 800,000 more than the women’s figure (100,000). The males’ figures for production and managers sectors had about 400,000 more, while semiprofessionals and laborers had about 100,000 -200, 000  more than the female’s figure.

On the other side, there are were only two sectors that had more  number of women than men, of which were professionals and clerical, though the figure figures for females were just about 50, 000-100, 000  more females than the males.

Other point to note is that, the most popular job sectors for both genders is  females and males were clerical (890, 000-960 000), followed by professionals (650,000-700,00 000 ), semiprofessionals (350,000-500 000) and laborers (280,000-400 000). While However, the other sectors had a huge gap of malebetween the number of males and females with the males dominating the jobs those sectors.
All in all, the number of persons working in certain jobs depends on genders and job types.
